Aachen is the westernmost city in Germany and is located in the heart of Europe, close to the borders of Belgium and the Netherlands. The city is historically one of the most important cities in Europe. Aachen has been the coronation place for kings for 600 years. During the conference, there will be the opportunity to attend the conference dinner in the historic Coronation Hall. Every year, the prestigious Charlemagne Prize is also awarded at this historic venue to individuals or institutions that have made an outstanding contribution to Europe and European unification. Aachen’s landmark, the cathedral, stands in the center of Aachen’s old town. Aachen is also internationally renowned for equestrian sport with the World Equestrian Festival CHIO. Aachen is a city that is characterized by great diversity in every respect: historical contexts, historical sights, cultural attractions, major events, but also museums of various kinds and, last but not least, the economic and scientific functions of the city. Take the opportunity to visit Aachen as part of the 32nd International Conference on Photochemistry.
